ARRL IDAHO SECTION CONTACT LIST

Section Manager -

I have been a licensed Amateur Radio operator and
having fun with ham radio since 1957.  I enjoy contesting, DXing and casual operating on the HF bands, particularly 160 Meters. Most of my operating is in the CW and digital (PSK-31) modes.

I strongly believe that all current licensees are ambassadors of Amateur Radio and we should always be looking at ways that we can welcome new hams and project a positive image that will attract new people (especially young people) to ham radio.

Public Information Coordinator I feel that there are two areas to attract new people to Amateur Radio. First is ARES. The recent class I taught showed me that many people just simply want to help in a disaster situation. Second is the ability to communicate in the backcountry. Many of our repeaters work in wilderness areas where there is simply no communication!! Target these two groups (ARES and backcountry users) and we will see an increase. I had 15 new hams in my last class!! Joe Yelda KF7AE
